Denza in Switzerland 2026: prices, models, dealers
Denza, the premium brand of the BYD group, has been officially on sale in Switzerland since 26 August 2026. As of 20 October 2026, the Swiss configurator lists the Z9GT from CHF 101'000 (Super Hybrid) or CHF 115'000 (electric), the D9 van from CHF 84'000 and the BAO 5 off-roader from CHF 77'900; the Denza Z sports car, announced at launch from CHF 149'900, is not listed there yet. The official website lists six Maisons DENZA: Schlieren, Petit-Lancy, St. Gallen, Biel/Bienne, Yverdon-les-Bains and Chur.
Launch and importer: where Denza stands in Switzerland
Denza was founded in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler and is now the BYD group's premium brand. Its official Swiss launch took place on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at the Dolder Grand in Zurich, in front of some 150 journalists and content creators, according to finews.ch. Four models have been orderable since then: the Z9GT, the D9 van, the Denza Z sports car and the BAO 5 off-roader.
The rollout came in three steps. On 22 April 2026 the brand published Swiss prices for the Super Hybrid versions of the Z9GT and D9, with orders open from the end of April. On 22 July 2026 it named its first sales and service partners. At launch, the first customer cars were expected "in the coming weeks"; according to 20 Minuten, the BAO 5 and Denza Z follow later in the year. As of 20 October 2026, the official website gives no delivery dates per model.
In Switzerland, Denza is run by the BYD Switzerland organisation, whose country head presented the launch. The official website denza.com is operated by BYD Europe B.V. (Schiedam, Netherlands) and, as of 20 October 2026, does not state the company name of the Swiss importing entity: ask for it in writing with your quote. Sales and service go through independent partners called "Maisons DENZA".
The four Denza models announced for Switzerland
Z9GT. A shooting brake grand tourer over five metres long, with two powertrains. The Super Hybrid pairs a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with three electric motors: 570 kW (776 PS), a 63.82 kWh battery, up to 203 km on electricity and up to 805 km combined range, according to the Swiss press release of April 2026. The electric version has three motors, more than 1,150 PS, a 122.49 kWh battery and does 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 s according to carmart.ch; the brand's German data sheet gives 600 km WLTP at 23.6 kWh/100 km. The Swiss website says type approval is still in progress.
D9. A seven-seat all-wheel-drive van (DM-i system): 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and three electric motors, 260 kW (353 PS), up to 210 km on electricity and up to 950 km combined range with a full battery and tank, according to the official website and the April release. Boot space reaches up to 2,310 litres. Two trims: Elegance and Ultimate.
BAO 5. A plug-in hybrid off-roader: 400 kW (544 PS), 760 Nm, 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 s and a V2L socket delivering up to 3 kW, according to the Swiss website. Swiss media (finews, carmart.ch) mention a ladder frame, lockable differentials and up to 835 km combined WLTP range. The official website states that the vehicle is still in type approval.
Denza Z. A fully electric sports car in three versions: coupé, spider and Racing. The Swiss website quotes up to 1,604 PS and 1,240 Nm, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.25 s (coupé and spider, 300 km/h) or 1.96 s (Racing, 350 km/h), a 1,000-volt architecture and charging from 10 to 70 % in 5 minutes or 10 to 97 % in 9 minutes on one of the brand's FLASH Charging stations. Range had not yet been published at launch. The official website also lists this vehicle as still in type approval.
Denza prices in Switzerland and taxes

The BAO 5 has since joined the configurator, at the prices announced at launch (Elegance and Ultimate, see above). The Denza Z is not listed there yet: its prices were announced at launch and reported by Swiss media (finews, carmart.ch): coupé from CHF 149'900, spider from CHF 164'900, Racing CHF 179'900. Have the price confirmed in writing in your quote.
Watch out for older D9 prices: in April 2026 the brand announced CHF 79'900 (Elegance) and CHF 84'900 (Ultimate) including VAT. The configurator now shows CHF 84'000 and CHF 89'000. Several articles still quote other figures: only the written quote is binding.
Taxes: Switzerland abolished customs duties on industrial goods on 1.1.2024; it levies a 4 % automobile tax on the import value (electric cars included) and 8.1 % VAT. In the EU, electric cars built in China pay a 10 % duty plus countervailing duties of roughly 7.8 to 35.3 % (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2754). Warranty and free servicing: according to the press (finews.ch, 20 Minuten, carmart.ch, Auto Illustrierte), Denza announced at the Swiss launch a warranty of 8 years or 200,000 km and free maintenance for 6 years or 90,000 km; finews.ch and 20 Minuten give only the years, carmart.ch and Auto Illustrierte also give the mileages. The announcement is not repeated on the official website as of 20 October 2026: have it confirmed in writing, together with the battery cover.
Where to see and test drive a Denza in Switzerland
The test-drive form on the official website lists six Maisons DENZA as of 20 October 2026: Harmony New Energy Auto Service Swiss GmbH, Zürcherstrasse 104, 8952 Schlieren (Zurich area); the same company, Route du Pont-Butin 14, 1213 Petit-Lancy (Geneva); City-Garage AG, Westcenter shopping centre, Herisauer Strasse 5, 9015 St. Gallen; Fila Groupe SA, Chemin du Long-Champ 90, 2504 Biel/Bienne; Fila Groupe SA, Chaussée de Treycovagnes 7/13, 1400 Yverdon-les-Bains; WJ Mobility AG, Kasernenstrasse 90/92, 7000 Chur (Graubünden).
The first three partners (Schlieren, Petit-Lancy, St. Gallen) were announced on 22 July 2026. At launch the brand targeted six sites by the end of 2026; according to 20 Minuten, it aims for at least 18 by the end of 2027.
Before you go, ask in writing whether the model you want is on display or available for a test drive, since the BAO 5 and Denza Z arrive later than the Z9GT and D9. Also ask which Maison handles servicing and warranty in your region. On ultra-fast FLASH charging, carmart.ch noted at launch that such stations in Switzerland had not been confirmed.
Denza compared with other Chinese brands in our catalogue
Denza sits well above BYD: in our catalogue the BYD Seal and BYD Sealion 7 start at CHF 49'990, less than half the price of a Z9GT Super Hybrid (CHF 101'000).
Electric grand tourers: the electric Z9GT (CHF 115'000) costs almost twice as much as a Zeekr 001 (CHF 59'990, 620 km claimed range) or an XPENG G9 (CHF 59'600, 570 km). The gap is about power, size and equipment, not range.
Vans: the D9 (from CHF 84'000, plug-in hybrid) competes with the XPENG X9 (CHF 77'600, 535 km) and the Voyah Dream (CHF 79'990, 482 km), both in the SinoDrive catalogue.
Off-roaders and sports cars: the BAO 5, listed from CHF 77'900 in the configurator, costs about half as much as the M Hero 1 (917) (CHF 148'990, 450 km), the only other off-roader in our catalogue. The Denza Z (from CHF 149'900) has no Chinese counterpart in the catalogue. According to our catalogue NIO has no official distribution in Switzerland, and the Zeekr 9X has no Swiss price listed yet.
