Omoda & Jaecoo in Switzerland 2026: models, prices, launch
As of 20 October 2026, Omoda and Jaecoo, the two international brands of China's Chery group, are not yet on sale in Switzerland. Their official importer, Grand Automotive Switzerland AG in Zug (formerly Omoda & Jaecoo Schweiz AG), has announced a launch in the fourth quarter of 2026 with the Omoda 9, Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 5; no Swiss prices and no sales outlets have been published so far, and the Swiss website omodajaecoo.ch only says "Coming soon". Here is what is confirmed, with official European figures, and how to get a written offer when sales open.
The Swiss launch and the official importer
Omoda and Jaecoo are two brands launched in 2023 by Chinese carmaker Chery for markets outside China: Omoda for tech-styled SUVs, Jaecoo for more rugged SUVs. According to AUTO&Wirtschaft (7 September 2026) and aboutFLEET (10 September 2026), both brands start in Switzerland in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Import and sales are handled by a newly founded company, now Grand Automotive Switzerland AG; the trade press still refers to it by its first name, Omoda & Jaecoo Schweiz AG. The commercial register (Zefix) confirms it: a public limited company registered in the canton of Zug, UID CHE-409.041.527, founded as Omoda & Jaecoo Schweiz AG (journal entry of 26 August 2026, published in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce on 31 August 2026, c/o Maygold AG, Baarerstrasse 8, 6300 Zug). An amendment of the articles dated 2 October 2026, published in the Gazette on 13 October 2026, changed its name to Grand Automotive Switzerland AG and its domicile to Oberallmendstrasse 18, 6300 Zug. Its stated purpose includes the import and trade of cars.
According to the trade press, the company is based on an import agreement between Chery and Grand Automotive, an import and dealer group that describes itself as active in 15 markets across Central and South-East Europe. The Swiss organisation is led by Ernst Ramic, previously with Ford, Ferrari and XPeng according to aboutFLEET; the commercial register lists him with joint signature by two.
Not to be confused: Chery has also announced its own Swiss entry in 2026 under the Chery brand, with the Tiggo 9 SUV (aboutFLEET, 18 September 2026). That is a separate line-up from Omoda & Jaecoo.
The announced models: Omoda 9, Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 5
The press names three models for the Swiss launch, "among others" according to aboutFLEET, so the list may grow. The lead image of the Swiss website omodajaecoo.ch in fact shows six models side by side (Omoda 5 EV, Omoda 5, Omoda 7, Jaecoo 5, Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 8, according to its description), with no data sheet, price or date. Swiss specifications have not been published, so the figures below come from the official Austrian importer (omodajaecoo.at), a neighbouring market where these models are already sold. Swiss versions may differ.
The Omoda 9 is the large SUV of the range (4.78 m). An all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid, it pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with three electric motors: 395 kW (537 PS) and 650 Nm, 0-100 km/h in 4.9 s, a 34.5 kWh battery, up to 145 km of WLTP electric range and about 1'100 km of total range. Euro NCAP awarded it five stars in 2025.
The Jaecoo 7 is a compact SUV (4.50 m). As a plug-in hybrid with the in-house SHS (Super Hybrid System), it combines a 105 kW 1.5-litre turbo with a 150 kW electric motor for 205 kW (279 PS) of system output; an 18.4 kWh LFP battery, 90 km of WLTP electric range, up to 1'200 km of total range and DC charging at up to 40 kW. The version tested by Euro NCAP in 2025 (Exclusive, front-wheel drive) earned five stars. According to AUTO&Wirtschaft, it ranked third among the UK's best-selling new cars of 2026 at the end of July.
The Jaecoo 5 is the smallest of the three (4.38 m as a hybrid). In Austria it comes fully electric (211 PS, 61 kWh LFP battery, up to 402 km WLTP, DC charging at up to 130 kW, 0-100 km/h in 7.7 s) and as a self-charging hybrid (1.5-litre turbo, 224 PS, 5.3 l/100 km WLTP). Swiss sources do not yet say which version will come. The Omoda 5, listed in the SinoDrive catalogue with European data, is not on the list named in the press for Switzerland, but appears in the lead image of omodajaecoo.ch.
Prices and taxes: where things stand on 20 October 2026
As of 20 October 2026, no Swiss price has been published for Omoda or Jaecoo, neither by the importer (omodajaecoo.ch lists no price) nor in an official announcement. The prices in circulation are foreign.
As a rough guide only, the Austrian importer lists: Omoda 9 plug-in hybrid from 48'990 euros; Jaecoo 7 plug-in hybrid from 35'990 euros (Comfort) and 39'490 euros (Premium); Jaecoo 5 hybrid from 27'990 euros and Jaecoo 5 electric from 30'990 euros. These prices include Austria's 20% VAT: they are not Swiss prices and cannot simply be converted into francs.
Swiss taxation differs from the EU's. Switzerland abolished customs duties on industrial products on 1 January 2024; it levies the 4% automobile tax on the import value (electric cars included) and 8.1% VAT. The European Union applies a 10% duty and, on electric cars made in China, countervailing duties of roughly 7.8% to 35.3% (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2754). The Swiss price will still depend on the importer's pricing, transport and the equipment chosen: only the official price list counts.
Warranty: no duration has been published for Switzerland. Terms advertised in other countries do not apply automatically; ask the importer for them in writing before ordering.
Where to see and test-drive an Omoda or Jaecoo in Switzerland
As of 20 October 2026, no Omoda & Jaecoo dealer or sales outlet has been published in Switzerland, whether in Geneva, elsewhere in French-speaking Switzerland, in German-speaking Switzerland or in Ticino. According to the importer as quoted by AUTO&Wirtschaft, a first network of partners is to be set up by the fourth quarter of 2026 and expanded in 2027, aiming for nationwide coverage by the end of 2027.
The official Swiss website, omodajaecoo.ch, is now reachable, but it is only a holding page ("Coming soon") carrying the legal notice of Grand Automotive Switzerland AG: no model page, no price, no dealer list (checked on 20 October 2026). omoda.ch and jaecoo.ch do not lead to an importer site (omoda.ch does not respond, jaecoo.ch redirects to an unrelated site) and grandautomotive.ch hosts no website. The international site omodajaecoo.com and the Austrian site omodajaecoo.at present the models, but not the Swiss offer.
Until the official network is in place, a car bought abroad or through a parallel import may raise questions about warranty, software updates and resale in Switzerland. Before such a purchase, get written confirmation of who will handle warranty and servicing.
How they compare with Chinese brands already sold in Switzerland
Omoda and Jaecoo will enter segments that are already crowded. Here are the Swiss starting prices recorded by SinoDrive for comparable models (catalogue as of 20 October 2026).
Against the Jaecoo 7 plug-in hybrid: MG HS PHEV from CHF 34'990 (200 kW), BYD Seal U DM-i from CHF 42'990 (160 kW) and Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV from CHF 29'900.
Against the Omoda 9: MG MGS9 PHEV from CHF 38'990 (220 kW), Leapmotor C10 Hybrid EV from CHF 37'900 and Lynk & Co 08 from CHF 55'995 (260 kW).
Against the Jaecoo 5: electric, BYD Atto 2 from CHF 36'990 (430 km), MG MGS5 EV from CHF 29'990 (340 km) and Leapmotor B10 from CHF 29'900 (434 km); hybrid, MG HS Hybrid+ from CHF 29'990 (165 kW). Where Omoda & Jaecoo actually sit will only be clear once the Swiss price list is out.
Requesting an offer and following the launch
You can already request a written offer from the Omoda & Jaecoo page on SinoDrive: your request is passed on free of charge to the official importer or, once the network exists, to a dealer in your region. SinoDrive does not sell cars. Until the Swiss website opens, you can also follow the brand's official channels.
